Throttle valve definition

A valve in the carburetor . It is used to control the amount of air-fuel mixture that reaches the cylinders . Usually consists of a flat round disc mounted on a shaft so that it can be tilted at various angles in the carburetor throttle valve body. It is connected by suitable linkage to the accelerator pedal.
