Slip angle definition
The difference in the actual path taken by a vehicle making a turn and the path it would have taken if it had followed exactly as the wheels were pointed. The slip angle is the result of the tire carcass's flexibility and is the angular difference between the direction the wheel is travelling and the direction of the tread . If the slip angles of the rear tires are greater than the slip angles of the front tires, the vehicle is said to be oversteering . Also see tire deviation angle .
